Scouting Teaches Young People to Set and Achieve Goals

• 316 Scouts achieved Eagle Rank, the highest youth recognition in Scouting.
• 13,751 merit badges were earned by Dan Beard Scouts.
• 12,636 rank advancements were earned by Dan Beard Boy Scouts.

Scouting Inspires Youth to Take Charge
In a recent survey of Dan Beard Scouts…
• 90% said that “Scouting encourages me to set and achieve goals.”
• 92% said that “Scouting encourages me to take responsibility.”
• 94% said that “Scouting encourages me to serve others.”

PROPERTY STEWARDSHIP
• Dan Beard Reservation, Loveland, Ohio: New campsites and property improvements, EPA mediation mandates, sewage treatment plant.
• Future building and maintenance support: Generating operating revenue for the scheduled maintenance of volunteer properties.
• Camp Michaels, Union, Kentucky: Purchase of additional
camp acreage, camp improvements and property stewardship.

SCOUT ACHIEVEMENT CENTER
• Land acquisition and construction costs for demographically centered, 27,000-square-foot facility designed to meet the total needs of our 10,000 volunteers and 30,000 Scouting families.
• Site infrastructure.
• Construction contingency.
