Green Features - A Building That Teaches "Green," Sustainable Technology and Conservation

During our late-summer "visioning sessions" with volunteers, the council became more intrigued with the idea of a "Green Building".

What is "Green"?

The terminolgy green building refers to an energy efficient, sustainable building that is also earth friendly. The idea is to design the building to serve as a tool that teaches "Green," sustainable energy usage technology and natural resource conservation principles. Imagine if each of Dan Beard Council's 30,000 youth learn a conservation practice that they can apply at home and throughout life. The Dan Beard Council is attempting to achieve LEED accredidation with the new design. The following are a few "Green" Sustainable ideas that we may incorporate into our building design now as well as ideas we will be able to consider through a fully funded vision.
