Previous Council President, Virgil Reed, used a spreadsheet of all registered youth and adults in the council to determine that the geographic center for the active Scouting population is along I-75, just north of Rt. 126, the Ronald Reagan Highway . The population center of the council is in the Readling, Lockland area.
Based on these data points, the median drive time has increased from 50% of Scout families being within a 30 minute drive to 85% as compared to the current Victory Parkway location.
This new location has also allowed the council to implement its two turn strategy off of the interstate and strategically places the council closer to ScoutREACH communities where the council can have a greater impact.
