Village of Evendale

A “Win, Win, Win” Strategy:

A partnership between the Village of Evendale , the Gorman Heritage Farm and the Dan Beard Council, Boy Scouts of America would be Visionary and would build a relationship of Synergy between three entities. We have spent the last 97 years seeking to provide special opportunities for families to participate in programs that emphasize “Service to Others”. This same philosophy will be a part of the design of our building as well as our staff's attitudes toward their new community.

•  Construction of an attractive structure with a neighborhood-appropriate façade, high-quality interior and attractive landscaping.
•  Creation of a “ magnet destination ” for 30,000 Scouting families and 10,000 adult volunteers from our 12-county region.
•  Addition to the community of a State-of-the-Art Conference and Training facility .
•  Reading Road would have an additional vibrant, exciting place added .
•  An exceptional fit for the Village's plan to transform the Reading Road corridor.
•  The Achievement Center would be a positive “ Quality of Life ” component for Evendale.
•  Having the Boy Scouts of America located in the village would help to continue to brand the community as one of the best places to raise a family.
•  The Achievement Center would help to draw families to Evendale.
•  The Dan Beard Council would make the use of facilities available to community groups.
•  The Dan Beard Council is more flexible than other potential uses for the site. The Village will be invited to make put in design of the site.
•  The council will provide service to Gorman Heritage Farm .

•  The council will actively work to promote Evendale, as a community, to our 30,000 Scouting families. This would be accomplished through several activities, such as linking our website to sites such as the “Best Places to Live” webpage. http://www.evendaleohio.org/Pages/EvendaleOH_News/00B929B6-000F8513 Promoting Evendale as a community also helps the Dan Beard Council increase the desire of our Scouting families to increase their visits to the new Scout Achievement Center and our programming that is in conjunction with Gorman Heritage Farm.
•  Use of the Auditorium/Multi-Purpose Room by other groups from the Village and surrounding community.
•  The Dan Beard Council will be an active member and supporter of the Evendale Chamber of Commerce.
•  Most of the employed positions of the Dan Beard Council are salaried and are managerial and the nature of the work of our executive staff is in project leadership. As the Dan Beard Council becomes engaged in community activities, we anticipate that several employees will be interested in volunteering for service roles to the Chamber, the Village and the Farm. We hope to add value to our partners in Evendale through our volunteerism.
•  Dan Beard Council is a success “business” enterprise and will seek competitive bids from Evendale businesses as possible vendors. Promotion and participation on Village efforts for community service projects potentially including municipal beautification projects, support for local arts groups, senior groups, and other community organizations.
