The "Preparing America's Patriots"External Link fundraiser for Hopewell District (Warren County) recognizes individuals in our communities of outstanding character or those who embody the Scout Oath and Law in their daily lives. This fundraiser is designed to support the at-risk youth in the Hopewell District (Warren County) and increase scouting awareness, provide outreach services for those at-risk youth and continue to improve our communities through our community service projects. New this year is the Eyes of Freedom Memorial tribute to USMC; a once in a lifetime opportunity to support the Boy Scouts of America and our veterans.

Featured at this year’s event will be Keynote Speaker Brian Thomas; 55KRC Brian Thomas Morning Show host. Brian is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati in 1987 and the College of Law in 1990. He was serving as Executive Counsel, Litigation for Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield prior to his becoming the host of the 55KRC Morning Show in January 2007.

He is married to Paulette, has two great kids, Jerry and Lauren, a [Southwest Ohio Doberman Pinscher Rescue] dog named Archer and a conure named Necco. All are located in Symmes Township (which Brian says a great place to live).

The highlight of this year’s event will be The Eyes of Freedom: Lima Company Memorial.External Link This memorial is comprised of 23 life-sized paintings of the Ohio-based Lima Company 3/25 Marines and Navy Corpsman who paid the ultimate price for our freedom during Operation Iraqi Freedom.

The Eyes of Freedom Memorial will be open to the public, free of charge, for viewing May 12th at Jaguar Land Rover Cincinnati. Join us for this once in a lifetime opportunity to support the Boy Scouts of America and honor the service and sacrifice of all those who answer our nation’s call – then, now and tomorrow.

The Eyes of Freedom Public Affairs Director, Mike Strahle, travels with the Memorial and speaks to community audiences. He had the honor of serving alongside these men in combat during that deployment and now has the even greater honor of keeping their memory alive.
