*NEW THIS YEAR:
Unit Registrations will continue this year.
Merit Badge Challenge is available to all registered Boy Scouts. This popular event improves advancement for all attending troops/crews and provides our youth the opportunity to explore vocations and new hobbies.
Each Scout has the opportunity to earn up to three merit badges. Emphasis is placed on those merit badges that lend themselves to an indoor or wintertime activity such as Chemistry, Law, Computers, Communication, and Citizenship badges. Merit badges usually offered at summer camp are excluded from this event.
Scouts/Units may register through the links at the top of this page starting on November 1st.(credit card is required). This website also includes the necessary Prework for Merit Badges (posted soon), responses to Frequently-Asked-Questions, and a copy of the registration forms. Use the class schedule matrix to help plan out your various sessions (posted Oct. 1st).
Attendance at each high school is limited based on the fire capacity codes for each school. Therefore the registration at one or more schools may close out before the published Registration deadline. Attendance and availability of Merit Badges is limited. So early registration is strongly recommended.
Registration for all sites will close on December 15th or when each site is full.
Dan Beard Council is excited to announce the launch of a new online event registration and management system as a part of danbeard.org. The new system offers a clean, modern design with easy-to-navigate functionality, and a content-rich site experience. The e-commerce function enables customers to quickly and easily process registrations and maintain accurate records for Scout units and Scouting events.
Unfortunately, due to site integration and system availability we will no longer be able to host the Merit Badge Challenge registrar meeting scheduled for Thursday, October 16th at the Scout Achievement Center. We are, however, committed to making your registration process as user friendly and smooth as possible. Additional detailed information about the system, as well as online tutorials and step-by-step instructions, will continually be posted here over the coming weeks to help you become acquainted with the process.
