Where to Go Camping Guide

& Related Information

2007 Edition

Dear Camper,

We are excited and proud to bring you the 2007 edition of the Where to Go Camping Guide.  This publication has been compiled, researched, and updated by several Order of the Arrow members to include information on weekend camps, long term camps, and trails that are in and around the Dan Beard Council.  Our hope is that you will use this guide as a reference as you research and plan your upcoming camping and hiking trips for your unit.

We have tried to include information on nearly every local camping opportunity.  However, we realize this list may have left some of your favorite camping locations out or may contain incorrect information.  We are very interested in keeping this book up to date and adding as much information as possible.  We would like your comments on:

1.   Camps or Trails that have been left out.

2.   Information that is incorrect or outdated.

3.   Extra information about a location that we do not have.

4.   Any other recommendations or information that you think could help another unit plan a successful trip.

We need this information to keep the book current and useful to those who use it.  If you have any of this information, please email us at camping@danbeard.org with “Where to Go Camping Guide” in the subject line.

One of the four principles of the Order of the Arrow is camp promotion.  By compiling this listing for you, we hope that you realize that it is our goal to help every unit in Dan Beard Council have a strong camping program.  We are committed to promoting camping and providing materials like this to you whenever possible.  We hope this guide will help you expand the number of times you go camping by choosing new locations from this guide while still finding time to visit your favorite spots.

When asked why boys choose to remain in Scouting, the number one response is always to go camping.  Boys that go camping stay in Scouting.  Ku-Ni-Eh Lodge is committed to help your troop succeed in keeping the boys in Scouting.

In Cheerful Service,

The Members of Ku-Ni-Eh Lodge, Order of the Arrow
