Annual Pack Program Planning Guide
Preparing for the Pack Program Planning Conference
-
Each Cub Scout Den Leader and Webelos Den Leader should determine the likes and
dislikes of the Den. What events did they enjoy the most last year? What would
they like to do during the coming year?
-
The Webelos Den Leader should discuss with Troop Leaders plans for several joint
Webelos Den-Troop activities for fifth-grade Webelos Scouts and several Webelos
overnight campouts.
-
Gather District, Council, community and school calendars which will affect the
Pack.
How to Conduct the Conference
-
Review past themes, Webelos activity badge areas and special activities. Discuss
strong and weak points. Decide which activities, if any, will be repeated during
the coming year.
-
Review the recommended Cub Scout themes and activity badges found in the Cub
Scouting Highlights Pamphlet No. 13-513. Decide on the themes and activity
badges to be used for the next 12 months.
-
List any special activities in which the Pack wants to participate (including
District and Council activities). Tiger Cubs should be included in the planning
and how they will participate.
-
Share the Load. Appoint chairpersons to each activity if possible. Explain that
most of the special activities involving the Pack can be accomplished within a
certain time frame.
-
Make plans to recruit new Cub Scouts and Leaders.
Share the plan
Put the planned program in writing, including times, dates, estimated cost, and
any details that are known. The chairperson’s name and phone number for each
activity should be included. Give the plan to your chartering organization,
local school principal and all adults involved including parents.
