What is Cub Winter Day?
Cub Winter Day is an outdoor day of fun and adventure with
wintertime games. Activities include the Cub favorite, Earthball,
Tug of War, a variety of brand new winter games and much much more!
Each Cub will be
placed in a group of boys from his den or pack and will have a schedule of
events for the day. Parents and siblings
are invited attend with their Scout and even participate in the fun!
|
What’s for Lunch?
Every adult and Scout will receive a cup of hot chocolate
with their registration fee. Warm food
will be available for purchase including chili, hot dogs, chips and
drinks. Prices are reasonable for all
food items. You can also bring a sack
lunch to enjoy in the Cub World Dining Hall.
A break time is built into every schedule during the day. Please eat during your scheduled time to
reduce delays and backups. All proceeds
from food go to support the Order of the Arrow.

What Should I Bring?
Cub Winter Day is an outdoor event, so please dress
accordingly. Wear very warm clothes
including thick socks and shoes, a hat, gloves and heavy coat. Bring bottled water. It’s also helpful to have an extra change of
dry clothes including socks and shoes and a large garbage bag to store any wet
or dirty items on the drive home!
|
What Should I Expect at Cub Winter Day?
Expect FUN! Expect
games and activities all day long.
Expect to get dirty—because Cub Winter Day is in January, it’s not
unusual to have rain and snow…and then mud at Cub Scout Adventure World.

Please note: Each day is a separate event and will have a separate cost.
You may register as a pack or den and if your pack and den
are not attending, you may register an individual boy.
We suggest registration by pack and den
because the boys have lots of fun with their friends at Cub Winter Day.
Please
ensure that there is at least one
adult for every five youth registered. Siblings can attend with a
Scout -- the cost is the same as the Scout cost and they should be
registered at "youth." There is a limited number of
youth that can attend, so get your registration in early!
There are 2 ways to register:
Confirmation:
You will receive confirmation of your reservation when it is
received and a Cub Winter Day information packet following your
registration. Included in this packet
will be a roster that needs to be completed prior to Cub Winter Day with the
names and ranks of boys attending and names of all adult participants. You must have this roster in order to receive
patches at the end of the day. Please
register before December 1 to help with the planning of activities for
your Cubs.
Parking will be at the Wards
Corner Road
Industrial Park in Loveland, Ohio. There will be shuttle buses available to take you on the 3-5 minute drive to camp. Buses will
begin running at 9:30am and will run continuously
throughout the day.
The shuttle system has proven to be convenient for everyone
at Cub Winter Day. Abundant parking, and avoiding vehicle problems due
to weather and soft ground has vastly improved past parking problems.
Cub Winter Day is an opportunity for area troops and OA arrowmen to provide service to the
council and the Cub Scouts who attend. Traditionally the Ku-ni-eh lodge has been
responsible for setting up food and drinks and running all of the program areas,
but this would not be possible without the support of the many troops who
participate each year.
This is a fun filled weekend beginning for staff
on Friday night with setup and continuing through Sunday with cleanup.
