World-class Boy Scout camping facilities...
Camp Friedlander reopened
for Boy Scout Summer Camp in 2002 with some
of the most impressive faciltities you will find at any Scout camp.
While the camp is still filled with the Scouting spirit of it's opening
in 1919, our facilities are modern, clean, and accessible.
The camp provides comfort and modern needs while capturing the
primitive nature of Scout camping. From our 600-person air-conditioned
dining hall to our tree-house campsites, you will find a variety of
suprises you wouldn't expect at a summer camp (but you and your Scouts
will love!). Centered around the 18-acre Lake Marge Schott, the camp
offers 23 campsites, 9 program areas, and plenty of woods and open
space to explore and enjoy.

Each campsite at Camp Friedlander is a little bit different. We offer
different styles of camping than what you may find at other camps. In
our unique tree-house campsites, Scouts sleep on bunk beds in open air
cabins. Our deck campsite offer the familiar canvas tents with a twist,
as they reach up above the ground on large decks. Several campsites
have a great view of Lake Marge Schott and butt up right to the
water.
Every campsite is a short walking distance from a shared
showerhouse,
and many have an adjacent latrine. There is also a water pump,
bulletin board, flagpole, shelter and picnic tables, and a firering.
The camp provides a hose, shovel, rake, toilet paper, and trash
cans for the troop's convenience.
Take a look below at images and a desciption of each of our 23
campsites. Whether your troop is looking for a different way to camp,
or you prefer the traditional camping method, our campsites will
certainly make you feel at home for your week of camp. Click here
for a full map of Camp Friedlander with the locations of the campsites.

Here's a glimpse at some of the incredible facilities Camp Friedlander
has to offer. Visit the Programs page
for more information and images of each program area at camp.
|
Dining Hall:
This 600-person
air-conditioned building is the heart of the camp. With modern serving
equipment and an industrial-size kitchen, the dining staff keeps the
hungry campers full and happy. The building itself is a beautiful
structure with a large deck that overlooks the lake.
Our menus include Scouts' favorite foods and are approved by a
dietician. We have a contracted food service that prepares fresh meals,
including hot breakfasts, a salad bar at lunch and dinner, and
alternate entrees at each meal. We can handle nearly every special
diet, from kosher meals to food allergies (two- week written notice
required for special meals). Drink choices include a variety of juices,
coffee, tea, soft drinks, water, and milk.
Meal time in the dining hall are always bustling with energy and fun.
The whole camp gathers together for songs, fellowship, and most
importantly -- a delicious meal!

 |
Showerhouses:
The showerhouses at Camp
Friedlander are modern, clean, and private. Each showerhouse has
seperate facilities for youth and adults. The youth side has several
commode stalls, multiple sinks, and enough individual stall showers to
meet the needs of many campers. Adults will appreciate the individual
stalls that have a commode, sink, and shower all in one. There are five
showerhouses in the camp, making them a quick walk from every campsite.
|
Eagle's Nest:
The leader's lounge,
known as the Eagle's Nest, is the place for leader's to cool off and
take a break from all the action of camp. This air-conditioned facility
located in the center of camp is a relaxing place just for leaders.
Wireless internet access and an available computer allows leaders to
keep in touch if they choose.
The Eagle's Nest is also where you can find the Camp Commissioner, pick
up daily mail, and gather important information about camp and council
activities.

Reserve today...
Once you've decided which
campsite your unit will call home, make your
campsite reservation right away to make sure your site is held for the
2010 camp season. Some campsites are more popular than others and will
fill up quickly. The camp does its best to be as fair as possible
regarding campsite reservations.
Reservations are held with the
following philosophies in mind:
- First selection of campsites goes to units that
attended Camp Friedlander during the previous season.
- Campsites are reserved and held in a way that allows the
camp to serve as many Scouts as possible.
- The camp will endeavor to accomodate the reasonable needs
of each individual unit as much as possible.
To make a reservation:
1) Contact
the Camping Secretary, Jennifer Pangallo, at the Dan Beard Council
Scout Achievement Center at (513) 577-7692 to determine current
campsite availability. Campsite availablity is
constantly changing as the summer approaches, so be sure to check
availbility before making a reservation.

submit a check for $100 per campsite.

Campsite Reservation Guidelines:
- Campsite deposit for each unit week of camp is $100.
- An estimate of Scouts and leaders is due with payment.
- Deposit must be paid to hold a campsite during a week of
camp. Campsites will not be held without payment.
- Multiple units sharing a campsite during a single week must
each pay a $100 deposit.
- If all campsites for a week of camp have been selected, but
the total Scout and leader estimate does not equal the camp
capacity, the camp reserves the right to place multiple units in a
campsite.
- If a unit exceeds the capacity of the campsite, then it is
the responsibility of the unit to provide the extra tents needed. The
camp cannot provide extra tents or cots.
- If your troop wishes to remain in the same site for the
comparable week of camp the next week, a deposit must be made by 12:00
noon on Friday of their week of camp.
- By Friday at 12:00 noon of their week of camp, if a unit
fails to renew their deposit, the campsite during the comparable week
of camp the following year becomes open for other units to assume.
- Campsite deposits are non-refundable, however, they can be
applied towards total camp fees.
